How to minimize damage in FMCG .
How to minimize damage in FMCG .
1.Right product in right quantity in right outlet.
At
the time of sales , sales team should be aware of the above statement. For
example, in small pan shop low MRP product need to be given to off take quickly
. On the contrary if high MRP products are placed in small pan shop , there is
a chance to get expired . Also a high MRP perfume in a small pan shop has a
little chance to be sold. As per outlet purchase trend quantity should be
optimum.
2. Outlet’s purchase trend.
Outlet purchase trend tells
you which products to sold in a particular outlet.
Suppose in a grocery shop salty biscuits demand is more than any other.
In that case if you give him more quantity of Cream biscuit, then chance of
expiry will be high.
3. Pre expiry pull back.
If
you notice any product is not moving from retail or wholesale , then don’t wait
for expiry , take the stock back and
sell to other outlet.
4. FIFO(First In First Out).
This
term is common in FMCG sector. Stock which comes first into godown, need to go
out of the godown first. If you sell recently arriving stock , keeping aside
previous stock , then previous stock
will get expired .
5.Transportation.
Majority of leakage,
breakage , air leakage happens during transportation of goods. Transportation
from distributor point to market , in this stage normally distributor clubs different
types of product in a same vehicle and chance to damage is high.
6. Outlet wise damage
tracking.
Tracking
outlet wise damage collection data can help to reduce damage percentage. Make a
list of outlet contributing higher damage percentage and observe their stock
handling style. If necessary give them minimum stock also talk to them to
reduce damage.
7. Stock keeping position
should be proper .
It may be super stockiest or distributor,
godown stock should be kept in proper way
, neat & clean and water resistance place.
Stock keeping in a chaos position(Like below image) will result in
high damage.
