You have completed all the joining formalities now it is the time to face the real world . You need to leave your
home by 8 to 8.30 am and reach to your Distributor point by 9 to 9.30.am.
Obviously your boss or any senior colleague will be you if not no issue you can
go alone. Complete the introduction part and have a discussion with your
Distributor about the business , monthly turnover, product line ,number of
market he is serving, number of retail outlet, number of wholesale outlet,
number of modern trade outlet (if any). Also check with your distributor about
his infrastructure like number of salesman, delivery man, delivery unit
(mechanized or non mechanized),his godown stock, space and location. Also check his godown hygienic
condition as majority of us deal with food products. Also ask your Distributor
if he is having any issues with company like pending claims or any other
support communicated by your previous sales person. It will build a good
relation with your Distributor. If necessary take help from your boss or senior
colleague .Always try to maintain friendly relationship with your Distributor.
Next stage is introduce yourself with
your sales team under Distributor ( Different organization called them in
different names like PSR,ISR,DSM etc).Understand their market ,number of
outlet, type of outlet he is serving ,means of delivery, monthly business value
.Ask him about his challenges and opportunity, any issues with Distributor like
pending incentive or any gift, his salary structure and incentive. Always try
to make them happy and motivated so that
they can deliver your monthly sales target.
Introduce yourself with Distributors
manager and godown keeper these two people are key person of your distributor.
All necessary information and day to day transaction are handled by these two
people .Whether it is doing RTGS or delivery of stock or purchase order to
company. They play a very vital role in your daily life.
